Western Wood Anemone
Stem erect, with 3 leaves whorled at midstem. Leaf with long petiole, divided into 3 leaflets with rounded coarse teeth. Flowers small, petal-like sepals less than 1/2 in. long, pale blue, white, or pink, with fewer than 35 stamens. Grows in wet openings, moist forests, from coast to subalpine. Can be confused with A. oregana, which has more than 35 stamens.
