Racemose Pussytoes

Basal leaf rosettes and intermingled procumbent stolons. Leaf blades oval, with 1/2 in. petioles, green above, covered with matted white hairs beneath; leaves progressively smaller toward stolon tips. Inflorescence consists of individual flower heads along the upper part of 5 in. or longer stalks. Female flower head slightly larger than male. Grows in open woods, often near streams, at mid- to high elevations. Racemosa refers to stalked flowers arranged along a central stem.
