Hall's Goldenweed

Shrub smells like pine sap and is very sticky. Stalks branched, with woody base and erect annual stems. Leaves 1–2 in. long, oval, entire, stiff, rough. Lowest leaves with short petioles; upper leaves sessile. Flower heads numerous, on short stalks, held in narrow, hard, very sticky cups. Ray flowers 5–8, narrow, horizontal or slightly recurved, surrounding 15–25 disk flowers. Grows in rocky sites.
