Cushion. Sap clear, not milky. Stem with many branches from base, spreading or upright. Leaves mostly in tight rosettes at tips of stems. Leaf entire, alternate with petiole to 2 in. long, blade gray-green, 1–2 1/2 in. long, egg-shaped, with wide base, dense with soft star-shaped hairs. Male flowers small in cluster above 2–3 female flowers. Grows in open or disturbed places below 3000 ft.
