Cut-Leaved Daisy

Tuft small. Stems glandular, unbranched, usually leafless. Basal leaves spoon-shaped, always lobed, sometimes divided again, usually covered with hairs, sometimes densely so. Flower head solitary; purple-tipped bracts form a cup holding white, pink, or blue ray flowers, or sometimes, in higher altitudes, rayless. Many yellow disk flowers. Grows in sandy, rocky soils at mostly mid- to high elevations.
