Slender Goldfields
Erect. Stems branched or simple. Leaves linear to slightly oblong, entire, to 1/3 in. long, short-haired on upper side. Flower heads yellow; 6–13 ray flowers may be darker yellow toward center. Many yellow disk flowers; if magnified, the triangular style tips are seen. Abundant in many habitats. Often seen in vast fields, thus the common name. Plants in coastal habitats are somewhat fleshy.
