Sprawling central rosette of basal leaves 1–5 in. across. Plant without glands. Leaves few, long, strap-like, with rounded tip. Stems each with 1 white or faintly pink flower. Grows in vernal-wet gravel flats, meadows, open spaces between trees, at mid- to high elevations. Hybridizes with L. pygmaea where the two come together.
