Prostrate, tiny. Leaf blades deep green, twice pinnately dissected into linear leaflets to 1 in. long. Clusters of white flowers with purple anthers form umbels on unequal stalks. Grows in rocky slopes with sagebrush, pine woodlands, arid areas, at low to mid-elevations. Called salt and pepper in reference to the white flowers and dark purple anthers. See L. gormanii, a similar species also known as salt and pepper.
