Yellow-Flowered Navarretia

Mat of densely branched stems. Stems coated with tiny fine hairs. Leaves gray-green, alternate, deeply lobed to needle-like segments. Flower heads surrounded with leaf-like bracts, lobes all equal in size, prickly tips. Flower composed of long yellow tube, 4–5 lobes; stamens exserted, held in calyx with prickly-tipped lobes. Grows in open wet meadows, along streams, at mid to high elevations.
