Narrowleaf Stephanomeria
Mound of many multibranched, flexible, slender stems. Stems do not end in thorns. Milky sap. Flexible thread-like leaves present at flowering. Flower head at stem tip is solitary, contains 5 pale pink flowers. Grows in scrub, dry slopes, at mid to high elevations. Similar S. paniculata grows in the same habitats, its leaves fallen by bloom time and flowers tinted light blue.
