Pale Wallowa Paintbrush

Stems erect or clustered on ground, very hairy, sometimes branched. Leaves linear, 3/4–1 1/4 in. long, pointed; leaves on upper stem divided into 3 lobes. Flower bracts pale yellow, shorter than leaves, divided into narrow lobes. Flowers pale pink, with short narrow beak, almost hidden among the more obvious bracts. Wallowa Mountains. Grows on open ridges at 7000–8000 ft.
