Clump with mostly basal leaves, 1 to few stems. Stems straight or branched near top. Leaves 1–4 in., lance-shaped, with sharply pointed tip, entire or toothed, hairy; many stem leaves similar with lobed base, clasping stem. Flower petals spoon-shaped, pink or purple. Seedpods 2–5 in., recurved, held outward from stem, hairless. Grows in rocky places at all elevations.
