Ascending to erect. Stems slender, unbranched. Leaves linear, entire. Fine hairs on stems and bracts in the inflorescence. Bracts and calyx red except innermost section. Upper bracts broad, rounded with pair of small lobes. Flower exceeds bracts with age, lower lip green. Grows in mountains of central Washington.
