Upright. Stems with coarse reflexed or spreading hairs. Leaves linear to lance-shaped, entire to 3-lobed with pointed tips. Flower head greenish with bracts becoming yellowish or dried on the edges. Flowers yellowish, not much longer than bracts. Grows in dry rocky slopes and ridges above 6500 ft. on Steens Mountain, where it is endemic and fairly common in its habitat.
