Prostrate stems with leaves, erect flower stalks. Leaves opposite on stems, none at base, small, lance-shaped, without clusters of smaller leaves in leaf axils. Open clusters of flowers. Flowers each in a cup bearing hairs topped with glands; 5 white flower petals lobed, longer than sepals. Grows with grass in alpine rocky soils at high elevations.
