Sand Lily
Basal rosette of leaves, no stem. Leaves 6–15, 4–8 in. long, linear, flat, base surrounded by thin dry bracts. Flowers with pleasant scent, 4–8, each with short stalk, white, with 2–3 in. slender tube, 6 lance-shaped 1 in. petals, stamens and styles about half the length of petals. Grows on moist low ground in sandy flats, scrub, or forests, at mid-elevations.
