Many robust stems spreading, then ascending upward. Plant covered with coarse sharp-pointed spreading hairs. Leaves widely linear to oval, smaller near bottom of stem than those in middle. Flowers scattered in leaf axils on upper stem, most in small loose cluster at top. Flower small, long golden yellow tube, petals widely spreading. Grows on open slopes, sparsely treed woods in Siskiyou Mountains in Oregon and California.
