Orange Bush Monkeyflower
Hairy to hairless shrub. Stems with small clusters of leaves in larger leaf axils. Leaves 1–3 in. long, linear to widely oval with edges rolled under, upper surface often sticky. Calyx 3/4–1 1/2 in., not swollen at base, with uneven lobes, white to pale tan. Flower orange, red, buff, or white, tube 1–2 1/2 in. long with 5 wide lobes uneven on outer edges. Grows on rocky hillsides, cliffs, edges of chaparral and open forests from coast to mid elevations (farther south and inland). At northern extent of its range in northern California and southern Oregon, it is found only along coast.
