Water Parsnip

Erect. Stems stout, branched. Lower leaves with long petioles; upper leaves becoming sessile. Submerged leaves twice divided into lobed leaflets. Upper leaves once divided pinnately to linear, minutely saw-toothed leaflets. Veins of leaflets not in line with teeth or notches below teeth. Flower petals white, wide, becoming narrow at tip. Bracts at base of 10–20 stems reflexed. Grows in swamps, marshes, shallow water at edges of waterways, at low to mid-elevations.
