Erect with slender stem. Stem may be branched, hairs on lower section. Leaves lance-shaped. Basal and lower stem leaves 1/2–2 in. long, toothed or shallowly lobed; upper leaves sessile or clasping stem, often arrow-shaped, toothed or entire. Flowers small, petals white to purplish, narrow. Seedpods with single seed in center, more or less round, to 1/3 in. across, hanging from curved stalks, margins around flattened seed with thick radiating spokes. Grows in meadows and washes below 6000 ft.
