Bog Cranberry

Low creeping shrub. Stems slender, vine-like. Leaves evergreen, small, scattered along stems, oval, with sharp tips and edges rolled under, dark green above, with gray waxy coating below. Flowers at stem tips, solitary to few, nodding. Flower buds deep pink, becoming lighter as petals open and curve upward. Darker stamens hang below. Berries small, dark red to pink, juicy. Grows in sphagnum bogs.
